CCT Training - All of our flight paramedics and
flight nurses have attended specialized training in critical care
transport. This program is based upon a core curriculum developed
at the University of Iowa. This curriculum was further enhanced
by the local cardiac and trauma physicians at St. Vincent and
Bellin Hospitals to better serve the patients we transport daily.
This class first taught by the physicians from Bellin and St.
Vincent's in 1996. It incorporated approximately 120 hours of
didactic work along with clinical time at various departments
within the hospitals for the paramedics and nurses as well as
additional ambulance ride time for the nurses. This class has
continually been improved upon and enhanced with the latest developments
in critical care transport.
