F.L.I.R. System

F.L.I.R. System Ð (Forward Looking InfraRed)

  • FLIR Systems has been the pioneer in airborne infrared imaging since 1978.
  • Over 30,000 FLIR units installed worldwide.
  • Ultra 7000 Dual Sensing Imager. Contains a high-resolution infrared thermal imager and a broadcast quality video camera with 10:1 continuos zoom capabilities for both imagers.
  • The best features of military and law enforcement systems were combined to make Ultra 7000.
  • The Ultra 7000 utilizes fiber optic gyros to stabilize the unit during operation for a steady image.
  • Auto tracker system allows for camera lock that is independent of aircraft movement. This allows the target to remain under watch while the aircraft maneuvers.
  • Scene lock allows for switching of IR and video camera without losing surveillance of the overall scene.
  • Auto scan function allows the camera to automatically sweep side to side, based upon a preset range, during search missions.
  • The Ultra 7000 unit will rotate 360 degrees up and down and side to side, so there are no blind spots when doing a search.
  • The Ultra 7000 weighs only 26 lbs., allowing it to be carried on the aircraft without sacrificing performance. It's low profile decreases drag and allows for high ground clearance for landing at unimproved landing zones.
  • The Ultra 7000 is a sealed system allowing for use under any weather conditions.
  • The Infrared imager has a detection range of up to 25 miles for large objects. A human heat signature can be detected up to 4.5 miles away. The heat signature can be recognized as a person from up to 1.3 miles away.
